Curtis, Ph.D. (Temple University, 1984) has been with the University of Delaware and the Center for Community and Research since 1989; she is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration. From 1994 to 2001, Dr. Curtis held the position of Senior Policy Scientist at CCRS. Prior to coming to the University of Delaware, she worked as the Director of Research, Planning, and Evaluation at the Resource Center for Human Services in Philadelphia and before that as an Instructor in the Urban Studies Program and an Assistant Director of the Institute for Public Policy Studies at Temple University. Dr. Curtis has served in multiple leadership roles outside of the University including, most recently: Councilor, Society for Urban, National and Transnational Anthropology; Member of the Committee on Public Policy, American Anthropology Association; Chair, Board of Directors, Delaware Association of Nonprofit Agencies; and Chair, Board of Directors, Food Bank of Delaware. She has earned several awards and honors for her work including the Retha Fisher Founder's Award from the Food Bank of Delaware and the Kind Policy Award from the Delaware Housing Coalition. She has also been appointed a Presidential Fellow at the Salzburg Seminar, and participated in the Seminar' session on "Linking Theory to Practice in Nonprofit Management and Leadership" held in Salzburg, Austria.
