Sharon Merriman-Nai

Sharon Merriman-Nai, M.C. (University of Delaware, 1985) is the project director of the Clearinghouse on Abuse and Neglect of the Elderly (CANE) and has been involved in statewide and national efforts to promote elder abuse awareness and research since 2001. As former co-manager of the National Center on Elder Abuse, she coordinated a national public awareness campaign. Ms. Merriman-Nai has over 15 years experience as a mental health counselor and consultant specializing in geriatric-psychiatric assessment and the treatment of survivors of abuse. She serves on the Delaware Attorney General Senior Protection Initiative and has recently collaborated on a legal needs assessment for older Delawareans.
